A week ago we heard some stuff about the area we are living at and realized this is something we have missed when we are looking to buy a home. I have written already a post regarding the stuff to consider here (First time Home Buyer - What to Ask? What to consider? What I learned?) and this is an addition to it.
Now that you found the home that you wanted here's the next thing you need to do before you sign that documents.
- Go to the police district office and ask for the record of the house (some houses may have a record that as a buyer you dont want that history to be part of you and maybe a big NO on wanting to live there.
- Ask the neighbors/seller of the house of information that is important to you (i.e. previous owners are smokers, pets, etc)
- If you have kids or planning to have kids check online for Sex Offender Registry or Local Sex Predators because you dont want to be in an area where you are close to one or many. Use this sites to help you out family watchdog or www.fbi.gov › Scams and Safety
Buying a home can be very stressful and I know we always wanted to get the best deal BUT sometimes asking this questions and or finding information before you rush on buying that home can save you a lot of headaches and regrets in the future.
