APRIL - How's your New Year's resolution right now. How to keep up with it!

So far I am on track of our New Year's resolution. One thing I have realized since I started our resolution last January is to make it as a monthly resolution instead of keeping it as a year. This way I get to keep track on it and see how far we are improving or needs improvement. So for the month of April, our resolution/goal is to save $500 for our Emergency plan coz at the moment we have $0 dollars on it and it makes me feel so afraid coz we already have that experienced when my husband got laid off for almost a year and I dont want that to happen again. I am still not sure how we can make it happen BUT I am planning to do our best to make it possible.

So here's the plan for the month:

  • NO dining out all month (we eat out at least one weekend and for the family of 5 it cost us $50+ so for the month it will be $200 savings)
  • NO organic milk for hubby. It cost me $25/mo when buying organic milk skipping it will cost me $10/mo so that's $15 savings
  • Skip 4 nights throughout the month without meat $50 savings
  • NO Friday date night for hubby and I. We go out every other Friday as our date night - dinner + movie. Planning to borrow dvd's at our local library and just enjoy our night at home $150 savings
I think if we keep this plan all month long we can make it happen, if we do then that means we can keep doing it every other month and see how much we can save for doing so.

How about you? How's your resolution so far? Are you doing it month by month or year round.

Would love to hear from you and thanks for being here.
