Parenting and Alternative Facts #AlternativeFacts

Parenting and Alternative Facts #AlternativeFacts .... Everywhere I look and listen, this words seems to follow me. I dont want my blog to be political or what BUT I feel I need to express what's inside me as a parent of this two young kids. I am not questioning your political views or affiliation BUT I am wondering as a parent HOW you feel and HOW you will react when your own kids (or family member or friends) tell you a story and tell you flat out it is not a lie but instead an alternative facts that you should never question.

In our house, my 7yo knows that he can break something or skip a meal or throw a tantrums BUT he cannot lie to us as his parents. Whatever it is he NEEDS to tell the TRUTH, I have seen my husband gets really upset when he tried to hide something instead of saying yes I did it! I think after that, he have learned that if there is ONE rule - that would be IT! Be honest! It says a lot about you as a person if you are honest and stand by it no matter what (unless if life and death depends on it - then we told him we excuse it PROVIDED he will tell mom and dad that truth afterwards)

Honesty is extremely important to us as a parent. We always try to explain things to our kids even if our friends and family members says we shouldnt otherwise.

My question to you as a parent or as a friend/child? Is alternative facts acceptable? How do you handle it when your kids (family or friends) keeps giving you alternative facts (According to webster it is really a LIE lol).

Setting aside political views, how do you explain to your kids this conversation that is flooding not only our tv but also our computer and tablet feed.

I would love to hear from you and thank you for being here!

Take care!
